dreaded topic in our household: money.

i hate the topic.

i can spend it like no other,
but i HATE the topic.
hate it with a passion.
i married a saver (which is awesome)
he married a spender (which is unawesome).
BUT, i can say that i have become SO much better....
so much better that I have even started a budget on iWork.
i started filling in all the dollar amounts last night, because he really has no interest in this whatsoever....
i am filling this in and realizing, how EXPENSIVE life is....
you really just don't realize how much money everything costs... (or where you spend it)
you just spend it as needed (or in my case, as wanted), and it's *poof* gone, never to be seen again....
ugh.
i dread the topic.
i do.
and this is one thing, that, until there is a strict budget we are working off of, (or i learn to control my emotions), it'll always upset me....
we have a good idea....
but as for now, that's what it remains...
an idea...

money.
ugh.....

In your new budget, did you account for your massive "cuss bucket "expenditures?

We don't discuss it in my house.I handle the money. However... Recently I let my boyfriend (the emotional spender in our house) have all his tip money for two straight weeks, then I sat him down and showed him the bills and how much he spent. Needless to say, the tip money, which he had asked me not to count as income, is now part of the income. :)

Oh, and if we had a cuss-bucket, after he saw my budget, he would've been in the red.

that's so funny (and true).... truthfully funny.... yes. all i've asked for is enough money for a daily starbucks (my TRUE addiction, still an addiction nevertheless) and food... (groceries)....

he thinks my cell should be the first to go... are you kidding me? it's my connection to everything OUTSIDE my home (and probably one of the very few things keeping me alive.... or the one that's killing me the fastest) either way, i disagree with this one!

the gas and electric and water and trash.... REALITY CHECK!!!! a lot of money goes to these things!!!! FOOD!!!! we eat like freakin PIGS in this household!!! we eat FAR more than we should.... we just need more money coming in.... our debate (other than money) is one that I should post about soon.... it's about me working or not.... it's interesting and has very many pros and cons.... ugh, just thinking about it makes me want to chow down a box of thin mints.

We are food snobs here . . . Strange, living in a trailer park in the desert and having your neighbors turn their nose up at you because you brought hope tilapia and leeks instead of the traditional crack rock-HA!- That is a huge expense in our house as well. Oh wait, it's not a house, it's a space... I like to call it a suite. Regardless, other frivilous expenses (and my wine does not count, I am happy with the $3 brands) would be the cable that no one (no one) watches except maybe on sundays. and internet i need for school.
how about the three candy addicts i have living with me? bet id be living in a triple wide with that money!
