the day before mom and pat's last day of work at the postal service....
holy smokes!!!!
we (grammy, tiki and i) went out to Long Beach to join their potluck party they had going on with all their co-workers.
what a NICE party!
i didn't really expect it to be that big, but it was nice!
SO much food! i can't even begin to explain the amount of food there!!!!
and good food too!!!!
i wish my honey was there!
i always wish he was everywhere with me, but it was still so nice!
it is just like a dream to see mom being able to retire....
poppa too, but especially mom.
i remember back during our hard times, when she worked 7 days a week to provide for us....
when we'd work weekends spinning signs for model homes (and that was back when the signs were heavy and lined in metal!!!!)
i remember standing in the rain, and not wanting her to work alone.
i just remember sooo far back to when i was little, her ALWAYS working soooo hard!
i am SO incredibly proud of her and so incredibly thankful that she was offered an early out and still able to live the lifestyle they have....
i am thankful for poppa and all his hard work.
i am thankful for them both and their hard work and dedication and commitment to everything in this life....
it's amazing to see the benefits they now have, after putting in so many hard years apart and now together....
it is a living inspiration to know that hard work truly pays off....
if i had a glass of champagne, i'd hold it up in the air and say "to you, mom.... for all of your years of hard work, dedication and commitment.... to all your years of being a wonderful mother and employee.... it's your time now.... and to poppa.... for all of your years or hard work and commitment as well.... may you both enjoy the benefits that your futures now hold for the both of you." i wish i had more to give, but i love you both so incredibly much!
thank you for your continued support in everything we do!
taylor and i held hands this morning and prayed for you both, and your lives and health and well being.... this is the start of something so good....
to mom and poppa.... *cheers* (guzzles my bottle of water) ;)
